Fetko Residence
+
Poway, CaliforniaDr. Dennis Fetko PhD is a renowned expert in training of guide animals for people with disabilities. A decorated war hero and Vietnam Veteran, Dr. Fetko lost his house in the 2007 Witch Creek Fire. We offered heavily discounted services to Dr. Fetko, and are currently assisting him in negotiations with his lender and his insurance company to build this house on his property. Dr. Fetko is particularly interested in building a home which is both sustainable and fire-resistant. Under his direction, we have incorporated passive and active solar systems, greywater systems, rainwater catchment, natural ventilation, daylighting and green roof systems. We have also incorporated three used shipping containers in the design, which save money and replace the use of forest products with reuse of an otherwise worthless steel container.
